Swarthmore Tops Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Women's Semi

Garnet to Host Conference Championship Saturday

 

Junior forward Heather Kile posted a season-high 29 points and matched her career-high with 21 rebounds as she paced Swarthmore (21-4) to a, 67-55 Centennial Conference Semifinal victory over Franklin & Marshall (17-7). The victory is the Garnet's first ever playoff nod. Kile connected on 9-of-16 shots from the floor and 11-of-15 from the line en reoute to the Centennial's third-highest playoff point total. Sophomore center Sarah Tufano scored 16 points and set a Centennial record, going a perfect 10-of-10 from the line. Senior guard Amanda Rader and sophomore forward Jamie Drahos paced the Diplomats with 12 points each. Rader was 4-of-5 from three point range. Junior guard Amy Krietz added 10 points for F&M. The Garnet will host Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for the Centennial Conference Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Jays defeated Muhlenberg, 62-56.
