Peter Carroll Named Head Men's and Women's Track & Cross Country Coach

 

Swarthmore, PA -- Swarthmore College Athletic Director Robert Williams has announced the appointment of Peter Carroll, of Lancaster, to the position of head men's and women's cross country and track and field coach.

Carroll comes to Swarthmore after serving as the head men's and women's cross country and track and field coach at Franklin & Marshall College from 1989-2000. Carroll guided the F&M men's team to a 1999 Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship earning 1999 USTCA Regional Coach of the Year honors.

No stranger to Swarthmore, Carroll served as associate head track coach from 1987-89 in charge of the Garnet men's and women's cross country and men's track programs. Prior to Swarthmore, Carroll served a stint as an assistant coach at Ithaca College in 1986.

Carroll is a 1982 graduate of Villanova University, where he also earned a master of arts in secondary education administration.

Swarthmore College is a highly selective liberal arts college located 11 miles southwest of Philadelphia in Swarthmore, PA. Swarthmore competes at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the Centennial Conference.
