Lancaster, PA -- Swarthmore College placed four players on the 1999 All-Centennial Conference Field Hockey Teams, which were announced today.
Junior midfielder Kristen English (Plymouth Meeting, PA - Plymouth Whitemarsh) was a first-team selection while senior midfielder Julie Finnegan (Media,PA - Penncrest) and senior back Jamie Flather (Kensington, MD) were named second-team All-Centennial. Sophomore forward Kim Cariello (Hudson, OH - Western Reserve Academy) was an honorable mention selection.
English led the Garnet with seven goals and five assists for 19 points, posting a career-high in goals and matching a career-best in points. English, a psychology and education double major, also earned a spot on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Receiving her first all-conference recognition, Finnegan posted two goals and four assists for eight points on the season. The tri-captain finished her career with seven goals, 13 assists and 27 points.
Flather earns a second spot on the All-Centennial Conference squad as she received Honorable Mention recognition in 1997.
Cariello's Honorable Mention recognition are the first honors of her career. The sophomore tallied career-highs with six goals, four assists and 16 points.
Swarthmore finished the season with a 9-7 overall record. Their 6-3 Centennial mark earned the Garnet a third-place finish.
