Women's Basketball Team
Swarthmore junior Heather Kile (Marlton, NJ / Holy Cross), the 2000 Centennial Player of the Year, earned her third first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) nod, after leading the Garnet to its first-ever East Division title. She is fourth in the CC in scoring (16.0), third in rebounding (8.8) and field goal percentage (50.4), and third in free throw percentage (79.4). Kile becomes the fourth Centennial player to earn first-team All-Conference honors three times.
Joining Kile on the All-CC team is sophomore Sarah Tufano (Cromwell, CT / Cromwell). Named to the second-team, Tufano is 12th in the CC in scoring (11.7), fourth in field goal percentage (49.8), second in free throw percentage (80.4) and fifth in blocked shots (1.52). The center makes her first All-CC squad.
The CC playoffs get underway Wednesday night as the East Division champ Garnet (20-4) host West # 2 seed Franklin & Marshall at 7 p.m. If the Garnet defeats F&M the title game will be in Swarthmore on Saturday night at 7 p.m. against either West top seed, Johns Hopkins (16-8) or East runner-up Muhlenberg (14-10).
