This is the second burglary incident reported this week and both were on the North end of campus.  All are reminded to secure doors and windows when leaving for the day.  Secure valuables in locked desk/cabinets or take them with you whenever possible.  Always report suspicious people or circumstances to the Department of Public Safety or call 911.
Swarthmore Borough Police Department has been notified and this matter is under investigation.  Should you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Swarthmore College Department of Public Safety (610-328-8281) or Swarthmore Borough Police Department (610-543-0123).

The Federal Clery Act requires that colleges with a campus public safety agency must, in a manner that is timely and will aid in the prevention of similar crimes, report to the campus community crimes that fall into certain categories and that are considered by the institution to represent a continuing threat to the campus community.  The Department of Public Safety refers to these notices as "Timely Warning Notices."  This Timely Warning Notice is issued according to this requirement.  Not every instance of a Clery crime represents a continuing threat to the community and therefore Timely Warning Notices are not issued in every instance of a Clery crime on or near the campus.
