Alba Newmann Holmes is the Director of the Writing Associates Program and an Assistant Professor of English at Swarthmore College. Before coming to Swarthmore, she served as Director of the Writing Center at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and as a founding member of the University of Denver’s Writing Program. Her scholarship focuses on both writing studies and literary research. She has presented at national and international conferences on topics related to race and writing centers, rhetorical theory and writing pedagogy, and multimodal approaches to writing. In addition, she has published several peer-reviewed articles that explore intersections between poetry and cartography.
