| Swarthmore College senior Hollis A. Easter of Potsdam, N.Y., is the recipient of a Watson Fellowship, one of only 48 college seniors in the country to receive this honor. Each fellow receives funding for a year of independent study and travel abroad. Easter, son of Karen and Stephen Easter, is a music and computer science major at Swarthmore and plans to spend his fellowship studying bagpipe music and related interests in Scotland. He is currently co-president of Swarthmore's Folk Dance Club, which includes Scottish country dancing in its repertoire, and this semester played the role of Sarastro in the music department's production of Mozart's Magic Flute. Easter is a 1999 graduate of Potsdam High School in Potsdam, N.Y. |
