Watch: Two Minutes with Women's Soccer Captain Emily Gale '16

Throughout the year, Swarthmore Athletics will produce videos featuring team captains from all 22 varsity sports. The student leaders share their experiences at Swarthmore, both on and off the field or court.

This video features Garnet women's soccer captain Emily Gale '16, a chemistry major with a minor in mathematics from Vienna, Va. Gale, a forward, has played soccer for the College each of her four years. She was named to the Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2013 and was a member of the teams that won the Centennial Conference championship in 2014 and reached the Centennial Conference Championship game in 2015.

Following its stellar season, the women's soccer team (16-2-1) has been awarded an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and will host first and second round games on Nov. 14 and 15 from Clothier Field. In the first round, the Garnet take on the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's (N.Y.). The other half of the bracket features Ithaca and the Catholic University of America. The first round games will take place on Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, and the winner of those matches will meet on Nov. 15 at 5 p.m.
