Searching for Justice in Chester

Majandra Rodriguez ’12 and Jenny Akchin ’10 joined members of Environmental Justice at the fourth annual Delaware County Environmental Summit earlier this semester to present this preview of their exploration of a controversial development project in Chester, Pa. “This project began as a proposal from the Delaware County Alliance for Environmental Justice last semester,” says Majandra, a sociology/anthropology major from Lima, Peru. “They want to raise awareness about a soccer stadium being built in Chester and the toxic past of some of the land involved. Our documentary also touches on some broader issues, such as the economic and health problems in Chester and the importance of addressing these in all development projects.”
