Swarthmore Responds to Tragedy at Virginia Tech

On Tues., Apr. 17, President Alfred H. Bloom invited the Swathmore community, with deep sympathy for the Virginia Tech community, to observe a moment of silence at 2 p.m. That moment was signaled by a special tolling of the Clothier bell.

The following night, a candlelight vigil took place on the steps of Parrish Hall. Speakers included Dean Jim Larimore, as well as others who wished to share their thoughts.
