Swarthmore History Professor Tim Burke

"Easily Distracted: Culture, Politics, Academia and Other Shiny Objects," a blog authored by Swarthmore History Professor Tim Burke, was recently noted in the Chronicle of Higher Education. The Chronicle's Footnoted column picked up Burke's enthusiastic review of Ratatouille and his opinions on his new Nintendo Wii game console.

Burke's academic focus is primarily on modern African history, and U.S. popular culture. He teaches a wide variety of courses at Swarthmore ranging from a survey of African history to the intellectual and cultural history of the idea of the future.
