Claudia Seixas '10, an art major from Maplewood, N.J., is among the winners of a photography contest sponsored by the Society for Photographic Education and Philadelphia's Silicon Gallery. Her photo, "James' Island," is included in an exhibit of the winners currently on display at the gallery until the end of March.
"The photo is taken on James Island in South Carolina, near Charleston," Seixas says. "It's part of a series I'm working on about human relationships with nature and the natural versus built environment for my senior thesis project."
An exhibit of Seixas' work will open in the List Gallery on campus on Wed., April 28th. She plans on working as a photographer's assistant in the San Francisco Bay area or interning with a photographer or photo gallery before attending an MFA program in photography next year.
