9:00 - 9:30 a.m. Understanding Federal Direct Stafford Loans (Lang Concert Hall)
This session is required for any student who will borrow from the Federal Direct Loan programs now or in the future.
9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Student Employment Information Session (Lang Concert Hall)
Learn the ins and outs of working on campus from the students who coordinate the Student Employment Office.
10:00 - 11:15 a.m. Academic Advising Fair (Science Center)
Representatives from all academic departments and programs will be on hand to answer questions and to assist with course selection.
11:15 a.m. - 12 noon Academic Adviser Meetings (Adviser’s Office)
Individual meetings with your advisor happen from 1pm-5pm, so stop by at 11:15 to schedule an individual meeting. Some advisors use this time for a small group meeting, leading up to the individual meeting in the afternoon.
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Lunch with Your Dorm Teams (Sharples Dining Hall)
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Individual Meetings with Academic Advisers (Adviser’s Office)
You must meet with your academic adviser before you register for classes.
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Computer Help (Shane Lounge, Parrish Hall) ITS helpers will be available to help with tech support issues, in Shane Lounge and in Sharples Dining Hall (4:30-6:30 pm)
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Scott Arboretum Plant Giveaway (Wister Center, Scott Arboretum)
Learn about the campus arboretum and receive a free plant to liven up your dorm room.
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Half-hour campus tours (Meet in Parrish First Floor Shane Lounge)
Tours leave Shane Lounge on the hour, approximately. Join a tour to learn about places you may not have visited yet on campus - including the Lang Center, Writing Center, Career Services and Public Safety. As part of the tour, you will get your Class of 2020 t-shirt. You may attend any tour time that fits in your schedule. And, there will be dorm-based groups encouraged to take the tours this afternoon from the following dorms: Mary Lyon (1 p.m.), Dana/Hallowell/Dwell (2 p.m.), Parrish (3 p.m.), and Wharton (3 p.m.).

Get academic advice from sophomore, junior and senior SAM's to help select your first classes and ask questions about planning your course load.

Many on-campus employers will be on hand to share information about jobs available in their offices/departments. Turn in your employment forms (W-2, etc.) at this event to ensure that you will be paid once you secure a job. Session 1 and Session 2 are identical and this is not a first-come-first-serve session.
4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Speed friending (Upper Tarble)
Come for a session of speed friending to meet some new people and make some new friends!
4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner (Sharples Dining Hall)
7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Making Friends, Making Out: Creating Healthy Relationships (LPAC)
Building and strengthening healthy relationship skills are an essential part of the college experience. In addition to making connections in the classroom, for many this includes exploring sex and dating. In this session, we will explore the concepts of consent, positive sexuality, healthy dating, and how we can nurture a community free of sexual and dating violence.
8:45 - 9:45 p.m. Community Reflections (Locations TBA)
Guided discussions will be facilitated by returning students.
10:00 p.m. - 12:00 Midnight PHILLY SNACKFOODS! (Parrish Circle West - the Amphitheatre and Tarble Clothier side of Parrish)
Philly is an awesome place for good eats, and tonight the Orientation Committee is bringing some of the cities finest culinary treats right to Parrish West Circle. Hang out, grab a bite to eat, and have some glow-in-the-dark fun.
