British and American versions of The British postcard below was produced by Bamforth & Co. Ltd. about 1916. Bamforth was best known for its "saucy seaside" postcards, but produced a series of anti-suffrage cards as well. The American version of the card was produced by Dunston and Weiler as part of their 12-card anti-suffrage set of postcards. Both companies depicted men as "feminized", and taking on traditional female work roles, if women became involved in politics. |
