Abstract
The Atlanta Sanctuary Committee began in 1985 under the care of the Social Concerns Committee of the
Atlanta Friends Meeting. The organization soon included representatives from other religious
communities and provided information about the sanctuary movement and
sanctuary of Central American refugees, escaping the civil wars in that area of the world.
