Historical Background
Jayma Abdoo was Assistant Dean at Barnard College, where she served as an advisor to pre-med, pre-law, and international students. She had graduated with honors from Columbia University in 1988, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received a master's degree from the College of William and Mary. She died of cancer at the age of 55 in August 2006.
