The Quaker Information Center was established in 1990 at Friends Center, Philadelphia, Pa., to provide a central, staffed location for the display and sale of published material and dissemination of information about the Society of Friends. It was created to answer a concern raised in 1989 when Friends Bookstore was closed, making clear the need for a means of outreach. The sponsoring organizations were the American Friends Service Committee, Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, Friends World Committee for Consultation (Section of the Americas), Pendle Hill, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and Friends Journal. In 2010 the Philadelphia office was closed and its functions transferred to a virtual site maintained by the Earlham School of Religion.

Contains the records of the Quaker Information Center and the organizing Planning Committee, 1989-2010. Includes minutes of the Oversight Committee, annual reports, correspondence, and financial records.

Organized into four series: 1. Minutes and Annual Reports; 2. Financial; 3. Workshops, Programs, and Symposia; 4. Miscellaneous.

Donor: Quaker Information Center, 2007-2011.
