Rosendale Plains Preparative Meeting was established in the early 19th century. In 1828 it divided into Orthodox and Hicksite branches. In 1902, the Orthodox branch became Tillson Business Meeting; it was also referred to as Tillson Friends Community Church in the 1930s, and also Tillson Congregational Meeting as part of Marlborough Monthly Meeting. In about 1958, when Marlborough Monthly Meeting was laid down, its two constituent meetings were established as Milton Executive Meeting and Tillson Monthly Meeting.
