Smith's Clove Preparative Meeting was set off from Cornwall Preparative Meeting by Cornwall Monthly Meeting in 1803. In 1828 it divided into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. The Orthodox branch was laid down in 1828 and the members attached to Blooming Grove Preparative Meeting. The Hicksite branch was laid down shortly after 1918 and the members attached to Cornwall Monthly Meeting.
