Rochester Preparative Meeting was established in 1821 by Farmington Monthly Meeting. It became part of Rochester Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1825. In 1828 it split into Orthodox and Hicksite branches; the Hicksite branch continued until it was laid down in 1896.
