Purchase Preparative Meeting was established in 1742 by Purchase Monthly Meeting. In 1828 it divided into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. The Hicksite branch began to meet in joint session in 1883. In 1908 it combined with the Purchase Executive Meeting to form Purchase Executive and Preparative Meeting.

Divided into series: Men's and Joint Minutes: 1.1 1826-61, 1.2 1861-1905, 1.3 1904-08; Women's Minutes: 2.1 1809-53, 2.2 1853-80, 2.3 1881-83; School Trustees Minutes: 3.1 1806-56, 3.2 1856-1919.
