Poughkeepsie Preparative Meeting was established in 1819 as a part of Oswego Monthly Meeting, having been reportedly allowed as a meeting for worship in 1811. Poughkeepsie Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was laid down in 1913. Poughkeepsie Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) ceased to meet sometime after 1902.
