	 <head id="a2">History of the Meeting</head> 
	 <p>Peru Preparative Meeting was set off by Saratoga (later Easton)
		Quarterly Meeting, under Danby Monthly Meeting, in 1798. It was transferred to
		the newly-established Peru Monthly Meeting in 1799. In 1828 it divided into
		Orthodox and Hicksite branches. The Hicksite branch was laid down sometime
		after 1862, most probably in 1867 when Peru Monthly Meeting was discontinued
		"along with its concomitant meetings."</p>
