Oblong Preparative Meeting was established by Purchase Monthly Meeting in 1742. It was put under Oblong Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1744. The meeting split into Orthodox and Hicksite branches in 1828. The Orthodox branch continued until it was laid down in 1887.

Divided into series: Men's minutes: 1.1 1854-1887; Women's minutes: 2.1 1800-1805, 2.2 1828-1835, 2.3 1836-1842, 2.4 1858-1883, 2.5 1883-1886.
