Oblong Preparative Meeting was set off by Purchase Monthly Meeting in 1742. It was transferred to Oblong Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1744. The meeting split into Orthodox and Hicksite branches in 1828. The Hicksite branch continued until it was laid down in 1871.

Records of Oblong Preparative Meeting (Hicksite), 1780-1866. Includes men's minutes 1780-1854, and women's minutes, 1820-66. Testifications, 1780-87, are bound with minutes, 1802-1818.
