		<head id="a2">History of the Meeting</head> 
		<p>Marlborough Monthly Meeting was set off from Cornwall Monthly by Nine
		  Partners Quarterly Meeting in 1804. It became part of Cornwall when that
		  quarterly meeting was established in 1816. The meeting separated in 1828.
		  Cornwall Quarterly Meeting (Hicksite) was laid down in 1846, and the Hicksite
		  branch of Marlborough Monthly Meeting was transferred to Westbury Quarterly
		  Meeting (Hicksite). In 1847, Marlborough Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) was laid
		  down by Westbury Quarterly Meeting, and the members were joined to New York
		  Monthly. Most of the members, however, affiliated with the Friends of Human
		  Progress of Milton.</p>

		<p>Monthly meeting records normally include minutes of men’s and
		  women’s meetings for business and registers of births, deaths, marriages,
		  removals (transfers), and disownments. In general, non-members are not
		  mentioned in the minutes, even when they attended meeting for worship on a
		  regular basis.</p>
