History of the Meeting

Amawalk Monthly Meeting was established in 1798, set off from Chappaqua Monthly Meeting and under Purchase Monthly Meeting. Amawalk Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) changed to an Executive Meeting (meeting quarterly) in 1897. Amawalk Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) changed its name to Yorktown Monthly Meeting in 1882.
