War News Radio
Launched in 2005, War News Radio is an independent and award-winning journalism project of Swarthmore College students who are devoted to putting a human face on the long-term causes and consequences of conflict. The WNR mission is to bring voices otherwise absent from the media -- civilians in combat zones, war veterans, survivors of violence, and solution-oriented experts -- to their audience and the world. WNR reporting includes radio and blog reports and commentaries on global conflicts and wars. Today, WNR is heard around the country on radio stations and around the world by thousands online. This innovative journalistic work helps reveal the root causes of conflict, while it also builds compassion and empathy. War News Radio is a student-organized, student-produced regular broadcast.
