SwatNet for faculty, staff, and students

Eduroam for Trico members and other participating institutions

Trico members not taking classes at Swarthmore, and other participating members (from eduroam enabled institutions), should use the eduroam network

  1. Connect to the eduroam wifi network
  2. When prompted, authenticate with your home institution username (including the @institution portion), e.g. jdoe@yourinstitution.edu
  3. Enter your home institution password

SwatGuest for guests

Visitors who do not have a College userID may use the wireless network called SwatGuest. Guests can use our self-service process to sign up for a temporary account. These accounts are good for four days.

Connection Instructions for SwatNet

Faculty, staff, students, and Trico individuals taking or teaching classes at Swarthmore can use the following 3-step process to set up a wireless connection. Follow these steps for OS X, Windows, Ubuntu computers, and iOS based phones and tablets. Android based phones and tablets need an additional configuration step. Other versions of Linux are not supported on our wireless network.

Connect to SwatNet

Open up your wireless connection and choose the SwatNet wireless network. Enter your Swarthmore user name and password to connect to it. It may take a few moments, and you may be prompted to accept a security certificate. Accept it, and follow any instructions to launch the registration webpage.

Register your computer

After a few moments a webpage should open with the Swarthmore network registration pages - if not, open up a browser and type www.swarthmore.edu into your browser's address bar, which will redirect you to the registration pages. Select the appropriate login category and enter your username and password again. If prompted, install the Bradford agent to obtain access to the network. Students may also need to install or update antivirus software. Enter your username and password a final time in the Bradford window.

Wait a few moments

After installing the required software, it may take up to three minutes for your network connection to reconfigure. When it does, you should be online! If it does not automatically redirect you to the Swarthmore home page, open up a new tab or window, and type in www.swarthmore.edu.
