The Grievance Procedure and Review provides a process for an employee to have an employment action reviewed for appropriateness and resolved. The employee relations manager is available to assist employees with this process.
In the case of an action that is deemed related to a protected category under the law, employees use the Discrimination Grievance Procedure, and the equal opportunity officer provides assistance to employees.
The Mediation Program at Swarthmore makes mediation available as an option to staff in resolving conflicts. Mediation is a confidential process in which a pair of trained neutral mediators help the disputants define the issues and reach voluntary agreement.
