Charles E. Gilbert (Provost)

Charles E. Gilbert earned a B.A. from Haverford College and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He was a professor of political science and provost of Swarthmore College.

Kendall Landis (Vice President)

Kendall "Ken" Landis graduated from Swarthmore College in 1948. He returned to the college to serve as vice president for development and alumni affairs from 1971 until his retirement 19 years later.

Lawrence L. Landry (Vice President)

Lawrence L. Landry was vice president for administration and finance at Swarthmore College. Approximately two linear feet of records, 1979-1982. Files on campus buildings, with cost reports renovation plans, and other financial records; a file of speeches and articles by Landry, mostly about the financial administration of Swarthmore; files on various other topics such as computers at Swarthmore, parking, investments, and more.

Leah J. Smith (Assistant to the President and Director of Institutional Research)

Leah Smith was an administrator at Swarthmore College, at various times holding the positions of Assistant to the President and Director of Institutional Research, as well as Acting Associate Provost and Acting Dean of the College. This collection, which dates from 1971 to 1996, is made up of materials amassed by Leah J. Smith in her role as Assistant to the President (also included are some materials carried over from the Assistant to the President prior to Smith). This collection is restricted and requires the permission of the President of Swarthmore College or the Chairman of the Board of Managers of the College. Contact the Curator for details.

Phyllis Teitelbaum (Equal Opportunity Office)

Phyllis Teitelbaum came to Swarthmore College in 1976 to assume the newly-created position of Equal Opportunity Officer and Assistant to the President, a title she held until leaving the college in January 1980. This collection consists of Equal Opportunity Office files, 1976-1980, spanning about 8.75 linear feet. The collection is currently unprocessed and stored off-site.
