2016 Tri-Co Film Festival

Tri-Co Film Festival Submission Guidelines

We are seeking short film, video, animation and new media submissions for the 5th annual Tri-Co Film Festival. All current Tri-Co students are eligible. Selected works will be screened at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute on May 5th.



Projects DUE: Friday, April 22, 11:59 pm (Works-in-progress will NOT be accepted this year)


All Tri-Co students are eligible to submit short films completed after June 1, 2015, and directed by students currently attending Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges. The films may be of any genre.  Films may be no longer than 10 minutes in length. Shorter works in the 1-5 minute range are STRONGLY encouraged. Films done outside of coursework are eligible.

This year we will also consider submissions consisting of interactive digital media content, such as websites, online maps, video games, etc.  Applicants interested in submitting this kind of work should send an email to tricofilmfest@gmail.com with a project description and a link, if applicable.



  1. Create a Vimeo account (vimeo.com/join).

  2. Adhere to the Vimeo compression settings (vimeo.com/help/compression) when exporting your project and uploading it to your Vimeo account.

  3. For each video submission, add the following information in the Vimeo description field:

  4. Name of Film

  5. Year and Semester of Production

  6. Film Synopsis (1-3 Sentences)

  7. Director’s Statement (1 Paragraph)

  8. Technical Specifications (Aspect Ratio, Frame-rate, HD or SD, Sound, etc)

  9. Principal Crew and Cast

  10. In the privacy settings, make your submission video available to be added to a Vimeo Channel or Album. We will compile all the submissions to one private Vimeo Album for our programmers and jurors.

  11. Then send a separate EMAIL to tricofilmfest@gmail.com with the following information:

  12. Your name, your role in film (e.g., Jules Doe, Writer/Director)

  13. Email and phone

  14. College & year of graduation (e.g., Swarthmore College, ’16)

  15. Major/minor

  16. Name of film, year and semester of production

  17. If applicable, please indicate if this is a senior thesis, Film and Media Studies Senior Capstone project, or coursework production (along with course and instructor name).

  18. Vimeo.com link of your film

  19. PASSWORD for private video, if applicable

  20. Have your email subject read “Tri-Co Film Festival Submission 2016”

  21. Festival staff will contact you within 24 hours to confirm receipt of your submission.

  22. After creating a vimeo account, join the "Tri-Co Film and Video" group on Vimeo to connect with your fellow students: vimeo.com/groups/tricofilm
