Recruitment Assistance

The Director, Equal Opportunity and Engagement is available to support the faculty and staff recruitment functions of academic departments by counseling search committees and department chairs about avoiding discrimination in recruitment practices. The Director also collects and analyzes diversity statistics of employment pools.

It is central to the mission of the college to seek exceptional applicants who can demonstrate their commitment to an inclusive society and world. It is also critical to remember that it is inappropriate and in most cases illegal to discriminate against an applicant on the basis of their sex, race, color, age, religion, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, medical condition, pregnancy, disability or any other legally protected status.

The Director, Equal Opportunity and Engagement is available to meet with search committees to discuss enhancing diversity recruitment efforts and avoiding discriminatory practices in:

  • Position Announcements and Advertisements
  • In-person and Telephone Interview Discussions and Conversation
  • Interview Questions
  • Reference Checking
  • Documentation and Notes
