Special Topics in Dance Composition Videography for Dance

This course is an introduction to the principles and practice of choreographing for dance, recording it, and editing the material in Final Cut Pro. Topics include theoretical concerns when making dance for the camera as opposed to other performing contexts, camera operation, framing, timing, continuity, story boarding, pre- and post-production, and movement animation using Life Forms software. Students will be expected to produce a short videography as a final project.
