Student Leadership Conference

The Center for Innovation and Leadership is hosting a Student Leadership Conference with support from offices all around campus. This conference will help students develop the skills needed to navigate roles as emerging or active leaders on campus.

Date: April 10th, 2016 from noon-5pm

Visit the RSVP website: swatleadership.splashthat.com

What to expect out of the day:

DiSC Assessment
DiSC is a personal assessment tool that each attendee will take in advance of the conference. During the first session students will walk through their own personal profile to better understand themselves, their behaviors, and how they can apply the outcome of this assessment to their daily lives.

Conference Sessions and Workshops
Staff from across the college will be running workshop sessions on a variety of topics. These might include:
  -- Effective communication
  -- Conflict management
  -- Navigating transitions within groups
  -- Facilitating meetings or programs
  -- Collaboration among groups

Alumni Speaker:
Desiree Peterkin Bell '00 will be joining us for the Conference.  She will speak to her drive for purpose not position.

Closing and Give-aways
All student attendees will be eligible for raffle prizes during closing remarks at the end of the day. We will also be asking students to assess the Conference so we might improve it in the future.
