donnie l. betts began a career in radio after attending Fresno State in California. He also studied at the Yale School of Drama and is an accomplished actor, producer, director, filmmaker, storyteller and teacher with a career spanning 25 years. His current project is a feature length documentary film on American icon, Oscar Brown Jr., entitled "Music is My Life, Politics My Mistress." Beyond his musical achievements, Oscar Brown also engaged in a parallel career as a lifelong political activist with tireless strength and unceasing moral stamina. His life can be read as a parable of the civil rights and Black Power eras in the United States...
