McDaniel Selected as Top Seed in

2005 ECAC Division III South Men’s Soccer Championship

 

 

CAPE COD, Mass -- After finishing the regular-season with a 13-4-2 record, McDaniel College was selected as the number one seed in the 2005 ECAC Division III South Men’s Soccer Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with a final four format.

In the first-round on Wednesday, November 9th, #8 seed, Penn State-Behrend (12-6) will travel to McDaniel (13-4-2) while #7 seed, Penn State-Altoona will take on #2 seed, Johns Hopkins (11-2-5).

 

In the two other quarterfinal games on Wednesday, November 9th, #6 seed Dickinson (12-5) will travel to #3 seed, Swarthmore (12-5-1) in a 7:00 p.m. affair, while #4 seed Grove City (12-5-4) will host #5 seed Lake Erie (10-7-2) at 1 p.m. The quarterfinal winners will advance into Saturday’s semifinals at the final four site of the highest remaining seed.

 

In the semifinals on November 12th, the winner of the Lake Erie-Grove City match will square off against the winner of the McDaniel-Penn State-Behrend game at 11 a.m.  In the other semifinal match at 2 p.m., the winner of the Johns Hopkins-Penn State-Altoona contest will take on the winner of the Swarthmore-Dickinson match.

The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, November 13th at 1 p.m. for the championship.
