Scholarship for study abroad

The Institute of International Education is pleased to announce the opening of the application periods for the Summer 2006 and Fall 2006/ Academic Year 2006-07 Freeman-ASIA Awards. The application cycle for Summer 2006 Awards will open on January 19, 2006 and the application cycle for Fall 2006 and Academic Year 2006-07 Awards will open on February 16, 2006.

The Freeman-ASIA Awards were designed to encourage more American undergraduate students to pursue study abroad in East and Southeast Asia. The program began in 2001 and has supported approximately 2,200 students in study abroad programs in 15 countries since then. The funding comes from the generous support of the Freeman Foundation, and the Institute of International Education (IIE) administers the scholarship program.
