New Faculty Orientation
The orientation for new faculty will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Please see the schedule of events [pdf] for details.
You and your spouse/partner are cordially invited to dinner in the Scheuer room following the orientation. Cocktails will be served at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Joanne Kimpel and be sure to let her know if you will be bringing a guest. Contact Joanne at email@example.com.
Guide For Instructional Staff New to Swarthmore College
Please plan to attend one of two benefits orientation sessions. John Cline of Human Resources will be hosting both sessions and can answer questions regarding health insurance packages, spending accounts, etc.

Faculty and Instructional Staff members will be paid via direct deposit on the 15th of each month. You will receive a confirming e-mail a few days prior to payday notifying you of your pending deposit.
If you haven't already filled out a direct deposit form [pdf], please do so as soon as possible. When submitting your direct deposit form to the Provost's office, you must also provide a voided check.
Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union
The Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union has a branch office in Parrish Hall, 1st Floor West. They provide good service and are open to faculty, staff and students. In addition to the branch office, they also have an ATM in place in Kohlberg Hall (close to the coffee shop).
Within mySwarthmore you can enter your emergency contact information and directory information (i.e. office location and phone extension). mySwarthmore also provides access to paystubs, direct deposit information, W-2 forms, and benefit information.

The Faculty/Staff Dash contains lots of useful information, including a link to the SEPTA train schedule, and many on campus services that might interest you. At the top of the page you will see tabs for access to: mySwarthmore, Moodle, swatFiles, Swatmail, tripod, and Faculty Services. Your network user ID and password is to be used for all of these applications.
Parking Permit and Photo ID
If you will be parking your car on campus you will need a parking permit. Visit Public Safety's Website for an electronic application. Once the application has been submitted, your permit will be sent via campus mail to your department. Otherwise, you are welcome to stop by Public Safety (Benjamin West House) and fill out a form there where you will be issued a permit. Benjamin West House is located on Chester Road (Rt. 320).
Your Swarthmore College photo ID will be necessary for library borrowing privileges as well as for access to the College's athletic facilities. See Terry Narkin or Mary Lou Lawless, both located in Benjamin West House. One of them is usually available between 9:00–12:00 and 1:00–4:00.
