Raymond F Hopkins

Raymond Hopkins has taught at Swarthmore College since 1967. He is the author or co-author of six books and over sixty articles in journals and books. He grew up in Ohio, received his Ph.D. from Yale, and has been a Visiting Professor at Columbia, Princeton and Penn and a visiting scholar at Harvard, Stanford and four other universities.
He is a recipient of awards from Guggenheim, Rockefeller, Woodrow Wilson Center in DC, Fulbright, SSRC, NSF, and National Academy of Sciences. He has been a consultant to the UN, World Bank and US government.
His teaching areas are international politics, African politics and food policy and recent research has been on global food issues and political economy.
