Craig graduated from a small school in rural Montana, where his main activity was Speech and Drama. He was an Extemporaneous Speaker for four years. Craig served for a year as president of the school’s branch of Students against Destructive Decisions, helping raise the community’s awareness of such issues as substance abuse and bullying. He also helped establish the town’s newest 4-H club, participated in the National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association’s Youth to Washington Tour, and was a delegate to American Legion Boys State. He was active in Business Professionals of America as well as academic competitions and has written about politics on a personal blog. At Swarthmore, he is interested in becoming involved with the College Democrats, the Swarthmore Queer Union, and the student newspaper, The Phoenix.
