Inventory of Swarthmore College Archives
The Archives include records of the College as a corporation, of its Board of Managers, key administrative offices and academic units, including charters, minutes, correspondence, financial records, etc. Also student records and records of student organizations, classes and alumni groups. Includes collections of personal papers of Managers, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as reference files on college history, campus, faculty, staff and deceased alumni. Also includes prints, photographs, clippings files and general memorabilia.
College offices and groups that wish to deposit their records in the Archives should contact Christopher Densmore, Archivist, for further information. Additional guidelines for records retention may be found here.
Under the plan of organization of the records developed in 1997, the archives are organized in series according to provenance. The series are grouped into categories based on function within the College organization. Available on-line finding aids are listed according to series:
