AP/IP Credit Policy
One Swarthmore College credit may be granted for the AP Environmental Science exam if both of the following two conditions are satisfied:
- a score of 5 is achieved on the exam
- the student also completes with a passing grade at least one course in either the Environmental Science/Technology category or the Environmental Social Sciences/Humanities category listed in the Environmental Studies section of the Bulletin.
However, the following restrictions apply to the use of credit for the AP exam:
- it may not be counted as one of the five required courses for the Interdisciplinary Minor in Environmental Studies
- it may not be counted as one of the College's required twenty courses outside the major
