I have taught courses across the Chemistry curriculum, including General Chemistry (Chem 1/3/10/10H), Physical Chemistry (Chem 44/45) and a number of Senior seminars (most recently, Chem 110). I also regularly mentor/supervise students engaged in research for credit (Chem 94/96/180).
The research in my lab focuses on the use of magnetic resonance spectroscopy to investigate the structural and dynamic properties of membrane-bound molecules. Membrane proteins (which comprise 25-30% of all proteins) carry out many important biological functions including transport of material across membrane and acting as receptors. We are interested in developing and applying nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopic techniques to the study of membrane associated proteins.
