Timothy

Timothy is a quiet student who attends class each day and is a well-behaved student. For the most part, he listens to directions and information being given and pays attention to class discussions. With regards to activities, he has shown he can understand concepts and work in groups, especially in the Parkway Foundation project. In small groups, he is cooperative, though not as active as I would like. In a recent assignment using the computer to research information about a country, Timothy demonstrated the ability to work independently and efficiently. When given a specific task or given a specific role, Timothy is much better at completing the task. With extra encouragement, Timothy is able to complete homework assignments adequately which shows that he does have some motivation and ability to pass the class.

On the other hand, TImothy needs to improve his academic work, work ethic, and class participation. On his chapter one test, Timothy received a very low grade, demonstrating that he has not been keeping up with the material or he has failed to prepare or study for the test. On his homework assignment, Timothy shows a lack of effort and preparation as most of the assignments have incorrect or incomplete answers. Timothy has shown he needs to work on his writing in terms of grammatical errors and in terms of answering questions beyond a knowledge/comprehension level. Timothy has only handed in a handful of completed homework assignments for credit even though he was given extra time and reminders. Furthermore, in class, Timothy does not actively participate in discussions either in small groups or as a large group. There are instances where he could be a more active listener by either taking notes or asking questions. In order to improve, Timothy needs to take the time and effort to review material outside of class or come in for help. Through those efforts, I think Timothy can become more actively engaged and motivated in the class and more able to contribute and succeed in class.
