Student Teacher-Currently designing and implementing an Economics curriculum to juniors and seniors at a diverse and multicultural magnet high school. Responsible for observing, instructing, and assessing students for twelve weeks. Building a portfolio of educational theories and practices.

SUMMERBRIDGE CAMBRIDGE, Cambridge, MA (Summer 2001)

Teacher– Developed and executed an interactive six week curriculum to teach environmental science to rising 6th and 7th graders. Collaborated with co-workers and a mentor teacher to modify curriculum, practice, and student assessments. Attended weekly teacher development sessions.
Administrative Committee Member-Attended a week of leadership training. Served as a liaison between the administration and the staff.

ASIAN AMERICANS UNITED/CHILDREN'S DEFENSE FUND, Philadelphia, PA (Summer 2000)

Teacher/College Intern-Attended Freedom School national training at the Ella Baker Child Policy Training Institute. Modified and implemented a multicultural activity-based curriculum that integrated reading, cooperative group learning, conflict resolution, and social action to rising 6th graders from Chinatown. Helped coordinate field trips and parent-teacher nights.

Corpsmember-Served the students of Turner Middle School. Assisted in tutoring reading and math in four classrooms. Developed service learning curriculum for implementing school-wide recycling for the Youthworks afterschool program. Coordinated and edited monthly newsletter for school staff, parents, and students. Attended monthly professional development sessions.

Co-Coordinator and Tutor- Facilitated program to tutor students. Supervised homework and instruction.

Voluntary Tutor- Prepared and implemented a curriculum for 7 week SAT program. Taught basic verbal and mathematics skills and effective test-taking strategies to a group of high school students.
