brought to you by WISE (Women in Swarthmore Economics)

10. Make Up Your Own Problems

9. Write Down Explanations of Graphs

8. Read the Text with a Pencil and Paper in Hand

7. Spend Ten Hours per Week Studying Outside of Class

6. Copy Over and Review Your Notes

5. Verbalize Your Answers

4. Do Not Zone Out in Class

3. Do Not Fall Behind

2. Work Through Past Exams

1. Eat, Sleep, and Take Your Vitamins

This course is very different from (and more challenging than) most other courses at Swarthmore. Study habits that have worked in other classes often won't work for this class. Try out new strategies, experiment, and see what works for you. Above all, please remember that there is life after (if not during) Micro. You will survive this semester, and if you find some effective study strategies, you'll also know a heckuva lot more about micro come December. Good luck!

Prof. Westphal adds: It's not the answer that's important, it's the "why" behind the answer that matters.~ Any fool knows p=MC determines amount supplied (if any); it's why it must be so that's important!
