Stream-bottom Macroinvertebrates

In order to collect the macroinvertebrates, we had three people scrape ten rocks (larger than a large fist) into a bucket, thereby collecting all the flora and fauna existing on the rock in a small site of the bed of Crum Creek.   A kick net was angled against the bottom of the creek so as to collect anything that floated downstream.   The contents of the bucket were then filtered with the same kick net.   The final phase was to examine the net on firm ground for macroinvertebrate inhabitants of our sample site.
