I can be reached most easily after lecture Monday and Friday and during laboratory periods for quick questions. Otherwise, Friday 1-3 pm is usually the best time. My office is in 302, my phone is 328-8466, and I'm known on the internet as jcebra1.

Reading Assignments:

A tentativeschedule of dates and text readings follows. There will be two texts for this course: The first is Gilbert's Developmental Biology(1994)and the second is the lab manual Johnson's Johnson and Volpe's Patterns and Experiments in Developmental Biology(1995). It is strongly advised that you read each of the chapters beforethe lectures, listen to the lectures, and then re-read the chapters in light of what you've heard. I've found that one never gets it the first time around. One learns from re-reading or doing. Reading is also assigned as background for the labs. This should be done on time as familiarity will be assumed both in lab and in lecture. Later in the semester reading will be assigned from reserve texts Carlson's Human Embryology and Developmental Biologyand Moore and Presaud, Before We Are Born.
