Dupont--Lecture Hall

Dupont--Math Wing
·  The remaining Math corridor exterior wall finish will be completed by 9/10.

Rugby Field
·  The rugby field parking lot is paved and open for use by faculty, staff, and visitors.  Please note the striped pedestrian pathways in the lot.  There is a connector between the new rugby field lot and the existing Dupont lot that allows vehicular traffic to continue behind Dupont.  The existing road alongside the Research Annex has been demolished and the installation of underground utilities has started.  A new pedestrian path will be installed alongside the new road later this fall.
· Stockpiling of topsoil and fill is ongoing.  Construction of the swale is continuing.

North Quad
·  Installation of the construction fence on the North Quad is complete. Opaque slats have been installed in the fence.  Additional fencing has been installed to expand and fully enclose the worksite.  Note the pathways marked with signs and arrows painted on the ground that lead from Beardsley around to the north entrance to Dupont.

Cornell Library
· The new rear entrance to the library is open.  The platform to the stairs leading from the rear of Cornell to the west end of Dupont is open.  The temporary platforms at both Dupont and Cornell will be replaced in September with more permanent structures.  The switch will be timed to occur during hours of minimal use.
· Structural steel was installed in the second floor of Cornell to allow the removal of the canopy. The reconstruction of the canopy has started will be complete by 9/25.
·  Removal of the roof shingles over the canopy was completed.  The material was asbestos-containing, so the decision was made to remove all of the shingles in this phase rather than wait to remove the balance of the shingles the next phase.  New shingles will be installed to serve until the rest of the roof is removed later in the project.

UTILITY SHUTDOWNS:
· There will be an interruption to the water service in Dupont during the next three weeks, to tie-in a new service.

· There will be an electrical service shut-down in Dupont during the next three weeks, to tie-in a new service.

There will be a disruption in the sanitary lab waste from the Dupont Research wing during the next three weeks, to tie in a new manhole.

PEDESTRIAN / VEHICULAR ACCESS:

There will be disruptions to traffic flow on the service road north of Dupont during the next four weeks while utilities are placed underground.  A minimum of one lane will be open at all times.  Please contact Facilities to coordinate any critical deliveries or services to ensure the road will be accessible.

·  Gates will be installed across Whittier Place just past the Rugby field parking lot.  The gates will be open during the day to allow construction traffic to access the site.  The gates will be closed at night to prevent any vehicles from inadvertently entering the site.

·  Parking along Whittier Place is prohibited during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Faculty and staff were advised that parking is at their own risk. The purple permit parking signs on Whittier Place have been removed and No Parking signs are being installed.
· The stair tower exit door at the northwest corner of the Dupont Research Annex has been limited to emergency exit only, due to construction activities outside. Signs have been posted at all doors in the stair tower.
· The stair tower exit on the west side of Dupont is open.
· Parking at the Hicks lot has been restored. The construction fencing has been reduced to allow the balance of the work to continue.
